Color-Coded Wristband Standardization Toolkit
	Color-coded patient wristbands can be an effective way to communicate a wide variety of patient information to medical personnel. Yet unless the same color designates the same condition to all medical personnel, errors can occur. The LHA Quality and Patient Safety Advisory Panel recommended a policy to standardize 5 colors state-wide , which the LHA Board of Trustees adopted in December 2008.  The LHA has made it more convenient for hospitals to implement this system by creating a Louisiana Color-Coded Wristband Standardization tool kit:
