The LHA's Public Relations & Marketing Constituency Group provides a forum where hospital PR/marketing professionals can network, share best practices, and discuss emerging issues facing the industry (i.e. pricing and transparency issues, telling the hospital story by “Redefining the H,” legal issues regarding social media, local media stories, state budget issues that impact patient access and services, etc.); identify resources useful to that constituency, which are not readily available elsewhere; provide professional development opportunities; and allow for input and feedback on pro-hospital industry PR strategies.

Each year, the LHA sponsors the Pelican Awards to recognize excellence in hospital marketing and public relations.
Call for Entries
The Pelican Awards include 34 different categories. However, after surveying constituency group members, the LHA only opened call for entries for Golden Pelican Awards this year.
Awards are presented each year at the Pelican Awards Luncheon, in conjunction with the LHA Fall Program.
