HHS Emergency Preparedness Associate & Staff Accountant
Kendra joined the LHA Research & Education Foundation in May 2006 as an Emergency Preparedness Associate. In her current position as a Health and Human Services (HHS) Emergency Preparedness Associate, her primary responsibilities include assisting with internal HHS accounting and reporting system (data and implementation) for allocations of HHS monies to individual hospitals; ensuring that hospitals are in compliance with federal grant guidelines and deadlines; coordinating competency based trainings to raise medical awareness among hospital personnel and other interested parties; compiling grant spending and financial reports for federal reporting; assisting in the development of administrative processes within the Emergency Preparedness & Response section; and facilitating requests through the Incident Command Structures for Emergency Support Function 8 - Health and Medical. Kendra holds both a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southern University and A&M College. Prior to joining the LHA, She worked in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System as a paraprofessional.
