Economic Impact Reports

The LHA retained Dr. James A. Richardson, Alumni Professor of Economics at Louisiana State University, in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2014, to provide an analysis of the economic impact of the hospital industry on the Louisiana economy, metropolitan areas within the state, and various districts of the state. Louisiana Hospital Inform is a user-friendly resource for information on Louisiana hospitals. Because the consumer's role in managing their own healthcare is changing, Louisiana hospitals made a commitment to provide information regarding hospital pricing and quality. Louisiana Hospital Inform provides:

  • Pricing data on the 100 most common inpatient and outpatient services
  • Quality data on surgical infections, 30-day mortality and the most common causes of hospitalization: heart attack, congestive heart failure and pneumonia
  • Patient satisfaction survey information from Hospital CAHPS®
  • Demographic information, services offered and contact numbers for hospitals

Established in 1926, the Louisiana Hospital Association (LHA) is a not-for-profit association representing all types of hospitals and healthcare systems throughout the state. The LHA carries out its mission by providing services and resources to members through advocacy, education, research, representation and communication.
